South Carolina man facing indecent exposure charges

It's no surprise that sex crimes involving children are considered very serious in South Carolina. Those accused of such activity could face severe consequences if validity is formally established with respect to the associated claims -- such as fines, imprisonment and mandatory sex offender registration. Recently, a man was arrested in York Country and is facing several charges, including indecent exposure and criminal sexual conduct -- both involving a minor. With so much at stake, the ability to effectively fight charges like this in court is critical.

The 43-year-old male reportedly has a past criminal record of minor charges in South Carolina, but apparently, he is also listed on the national sex offender registry for a conviction in another state. Allegations currently against him involve a 9-year-old girl, who claims this individual exposed himself to her on several occasions and also showed her explicit sexual material. The man denies these claims and suggests that the allegations stem from a dispute with the child's mother.

Charges against him include indecent exposure, criminal solicitation of a minor and criminal sexual conduct. He is currently being held on a $30,000 bond at the York County Detention Center. It is unknown if any court dates have been scheduled in his case.

South Carolina criminal cases involving minors who are portrayed as victims are often delicate and must be handled a certain way to ensure the rights of all parties are being carefully considered. As the consequences for charges like indecent exposure to a minor can be serious, the accused man would benefit from a carefully planned and well executed criminal defense. Regardless of a previous criminal history, if true, this individual is fully entitled to the legal presumption of innocence as he seeks the best approach for his specific circumstances.
