South Carolina wrongful death: Woman killed in motorcycle crash

Authorities in South Carolina have been investigating a recent motorcycle accident that resulted in the death of a woman in Horry County. This particular crash happened the evening of Oct. 7. As the driver of the other vehicle is believed to have caused the collision, the victim's surviving family members may be entitled to seek damages through filing a wrongful death claim.

This particular accident occurred at Old Tram Road and S.C. 319. According to reports, the victim -- a 37-year-old woman -- was driving her motorcycle southbound on the S.C. 319 when she struck a small sedan whose driver attempted a left-hand turn directly in front of her, causing her to suffer unspecified injuries. She was transported to an area hospital for treatment, but she died not long after her arrival.

The driver believed responsible for this accident is said to be 26 years old. This individual was uninjured in the wreck. However, a passenger in that driver's vehicle required medical care. The current condition of the passenger is unknown. At this time, police have also not indicated whether any charges are pending in this matter.

The victim is said to have been an area fire fighter who gave her job everything she had in honor of her late husband. As such, this loss of life has, undoubtedly, had at significant impact on her family and the community as a whole. The surviving family members of the victim may have legal recourse. Wrongful death and survival action claims that are successfully litigated in a South Carolina civil court may result in the entry of a monetary judgment for any and all recoverable losses.
