A 19-year-old South Carolina man was recently arrested and is being held at the Aiken County Detention Center following a car accident. He is facing two counts of felony DUI for the incident, that left him and two passengers with serious injuries. With charges like this on the table, the right to defend himself will be of vital importance.
According to police, the young man was driving his pickup when he inexplicably veered off the side of the road, striking the embankment and overturning his vehicle. Two passengers in the vehicle, a 20-year-old male and 16-year-old female, were apparently ejected from the vehicle. Both were transported to area hospitals for emergency medical care. The driver was also injured and received medical attention before being transferred to the detention center.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is still in the process of investigating this incident. At this time, it I unknown if bail has been set in this case. It is also unknown if any court dates have been scheduled regarding this matter.
