A collision that left one person seriously injured has prompted the search for the individual deemed responsible. Police in South Carolina are looking for a young man they believe was impaired when the accident occurred. When this individual is found, he will be facing a felony DUI charge for his supposed role in the crash.

Law enforcement officials in Aiken are reportedly looking for a 21-year-old male, who they believe is responsible for a crash on a local roadway earlier this month. According to the Department of Public Safety, this individual supposedly ran a red light and struck another vehicle. The driver of the second vehicle suffered significant injuries in the collision.

At this time, the young man deemed responsible for this incident has yet to be located by police. It is believed that alcohol is a contributing factor in the accident and felony DUI charges are likely to be filed. It is unknown if any other charges will be filed in this case, though it would appear probable.

A felony DUI charge is no laughing matter in South Carolina. The consequences of this charge run the gamut from community service to prison time. While it is unknown why the individual accused of the incident hasn’t been located, when he is, the situation before him will be quite severe and tough to navigate alone. With the assistance of an experienced criminal defense team, this individual can gain access to and question any evidence offered against him. The ability to review all the facts tied to this event may produce information that is beneficial to the accused in court and may help resolve this case in a manner that keeps his best interests at heart.
