A terrible crash in South Carolina has left two individuals dead and three others with serious injuries. Car accidents like this are likely to leave those affected looking for answers. In this particular case, the individual believed responsible for the wreck didn’t survive, so answers may be hard to come by.

According to Horry County police, a crash on a local highway was responsible for two deaths and several injuries. The accident, which involved three vehicles, occurred at the beginning of February. The driver of a pickup truck reportedly crossed into oncoming traffic, hitting a sedan which then striking an SUV. The driver and a passenger in the truck were killed in the crash. Three individuals from the two other vehicles were transported to medical facilities for treatment.

A total of three medical helicopters were flown in to transport the victims for medical care, and multiple agencies were called in to work the scene. At this time, it is unknown what caused the driver of the truck to cross lanes. Police are still investigating in an effort to provide answers to that and other questions regarding the tragedy.

Even though the driver believed responsible for this collision did not survive, the victims of this wreck can file legal claims against his or her estate in a South Carolina civil court, in an effort to seek compensation for any damages they have sustained. Successfully litigated personal injury claims or wrongful death claims may result in a court judgment for financial relief to victims for the monetary losses incurred from the crash. Compensation may also be awarded in personal injury claims for pain and suffering in car accidents like this.
