An older gentleman was recently arrested in South Carolina in connection with an auto-pedestrian accident. The supposed hit and run incident resulted in the death of one man. The accused in facing multiple charges for the collision, including felony DUI and failure to remain at the scene of an accident.
A 62-year-old male was taken into custody earlier this month following a pedestrian accident. According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, this individual is believed to have struck a volunteer firefighter who was reportedly directing traffic around another crash. The victim, a 52-year-old male, was taken to a nearby hospital with head injuries; however, he died shortly after arrival.
The accused was arrested at his home promptly after the incident. He has been charged with a hit and run accident and driving under the influence resulting in death. It is unknown if bond has been set in this case or if any court dates have been scheduled regarding this matter.
