Police in South Carolina are currently investigating a crash that resulted in the death of one woman. According to authorities, this was a hit-and-run incident. They are still looking for the driver of the second vehicle. When that individual is found, the victim’s family may be entitled to file a wrongful death claim for any losses they have suffered as a result of this accident.

On June 24, law enforcement officers were called to the scene of a crash. The accident is believed to have occurred in the early morning hours. Upon their arrival, police found the wreckage of two vehicles which appeared to have hit head-on. One of the drivers, a 24-year-old female, was killed in the crash. The driver of the second vehicle was no where to be found.

This wreck reportedly occurred on the U.S. 701 South at approximately the 3400 block. Lanes were closed for some time in the morning to allow police to investigate. Authorities are actively searching for the other driver. They have not indicated what, if any, charges will be filed against that individual. Anyone with knowledge about this incident is encouraged to contact police.

This tragic loss of life has, undoubtedly, been difficult for the victim’s loved ones. When authorities are able to locate the other driver, the surviving family members may file a wrongful death claim against that individual. Doing so with appropriate proof of negligence could result in a South Carolina civil court granting fair and full financial compensation for any damages sustained in this terrible tragedy which are legally recoverable.
