Alleged sexual assault leads to arrest of South Carolina man

Any sex-related charges can have devastating consequences for an accused person. Freedom and reputation will be on the line, but in South Carolina — as in the rest of the country — everybody has legal rights. Every citizen is allowed to defend his or her rights in court. Even those who are acquitted carry the stigma of having been involved in a sexual assault or other misconduct case, but those who are convicted will have to register as sex offenders. For this reason, accomplished legal representation may be beneficial.

A man from Anderson was recently arrested following allegations of sexual misconduct. Police were reportedly called by the father of a 13-year-old girl who claimed to have been inappropriately touched by the suspected offender. The arrest warrant states that the incident took place between September 2013 and February 2014.

The girl alleged that she was assaulted inside a white ice cream van that he apparently used as a prop. When she told her father what had happened to her, he called the police to inform them of her allegations. The man is now facing charges related to criminal sexual conduct involving a minor. An investigation to determine whether there were any other victims is underway.

South Carolina residents who are suspected of — or charged with — sexual assault or other sexual misconduct may benefit from retaining the services of experienced attorneys. Attorneys who focus on protecting the rights of those accused of such offenses can be of great help. After assessing the circumstances and examining the evidence, a lawyer can formulate a defense strategy and launch an effective defense on behalf of the accused. Every client’s legal rights will be protected while guidance throughout the legal proceedings is provided.
