Felony DUI charges filed against South Carolina man

A gentleman in South Carolina is facing criminal charges following a car accident that is believed responsible for the deaths of two people. This incident occurred the morning of Nov. 8 in Florence County. The charges against the accused include two counts of felony DUI.

A 26-year-old Lake City man was arrested and taken to the Florence County Detention Center following a fatal hit-and-run crash. According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, it is believed that this individual struck a moped carrying two people, both of whom died at the scene of the collision. The accident was reported about an hour after it occurred. The road on which the wreck took place was closed for the morning while investigators worked the scene.

At this time, it is unclear what led police to charge the accused. Court dates regarding this matter have not been reported. Authorities have yet to release any further details about this incident.

In accordance with the laws of South Carolina, the felony DUI and hit-and-run charges filed in this case could have a very negative impact on the life of the accused.
