A multi-vehicle wreck that occurred Dec. 9, in South Carolina is currently under investigation. According to a local report, several people were injured and one person died at the scene. Severe car accidents such as this can be devastating for the victims and their surviving family members. Through legal means, it may be possible to recoup some of the losses they may have sustained.

This particular accident occurred in Sumter County. One of the victims, a 45-year-old female, was driving to work around 9 a.m. when her vehicle was hit head-on. She died as a result of the impact. The SUV that struck her car then collided with another automobile before coming to a stop. Both drivers were transported to a medical facility to treatment.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is still in the process of investigating this accident. At this time, they have not indicated what may have caused the driver of the SUV to cross over the centerline. It has not been reported if any charges are pending in this matter.

Car accidents that result in fatality can be overwhelmingly difficult for victims’ loved ones to handle. Sadly, the first responder to the scene of this particular crash happened to be the husband of the decedent. This was, undoubtedly, a nightmare situation for this poor gentleman. He and the surviving victim may be entitled to pursue legal actions against the individual believed responsible for this incident. Wrongful death and personal injury claims that are filed and successfully litigated in a South Carolina court may result in monetary judgments for any and all recoverable damages.
