A South Carolina man recently lost his life in a tragic motorcycle crash. This incident is said to have occurred the evening of March 2. His surviving family members may be entitled to pursue wrongful death actions in an effort to seek damages.
According to local reports, a 27-year-old male was riding his motorcycle in the Myrtle Beach area when he collided with another vehicle. The crash occurred at the intersection of Robert Grissom Parkway and U.S. 501. Authorities believe that the driver of an SUV attempted a left-hand turn in front of the victim. Even though the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, he died while being treated at a local hospital.
Little information has been released about the driver of the SUV. At this time it is unknown if any charges are pending in this case. As far as the victim is concerned, this young gentleman was a former Coastal Carolina University football player, who is remembered by team mates as a great guy.
Losing a loved one like this can be, understandably, devastating. The victim’s surviving family members now not only have to cope with their loss emotionally, but are likely to be left struggling financially as they take care of the victim’s end-of-life expenses and other costs. If negligence or recklessness is proved, it may be possible for this young man’s family to pursue monetary relief for any damages sustained as a result of this wreck. Wrongful death and survival actions may be filed in a South Carolina civil court for this purpose. If successful, fair and full compensation may be granted.
