A South Carolina man was recently arrested after a woman reported that he kidnapped her and forced to take part in unwanted sexual acts. He is now facing numerous criminal charges, including sexual assault. He is currently being held without bond at the North Myrtle Beach Jail.
According to reports, a woman recently filed a complaint against a 47-year-old local business owner. The woman claims that this individual held her against her will in a backroom of his store for months. Allegedly, during her time with him, he mentally, physically and sexually assaulted her and forced her to take part in sexual activities with another woman. The victim, of foreign birth, also claims that the accused allowed her immigration Visa to expire.
The woman was taken to an area hospital for a medical examination on April 20. The results have not been reported to the public. On April 25, the accused was arrested and his store was searched by authorities. This case is still being investigated by local police.
Accusations such at those brought forward in this case are not likely to be taken lightly by South Carolina authorities. When it comes to sexual assault, both the rights of the accused and the victim must be carefully safeguarded, as a lot is on the line for both of them. While this case may be difficult to navigate, with legal assistance, the accused can question any evidence offered against him, fight the accusation made and pursue a legal course that will best benefit his current situation and future.
