A man and a woman were recently arrested for armed robbery in South Carolina. These individuals are believed to be responsible for not just one, but two, home invasions. Each of the accused is facing a variety of criminal charges. Both individuals have the right to a criminal defense regarding these matters.
According to reports, a 43-year-old male and a 21-year-old female were recently arrested in the Myrtle Beach area for their alleged involvement in a home invasion and armed robbery. After their arrests, a victim from a similar incident that occurred in Georgetown County came forward and identified both of the accused as his or her attackers. A witness to the Georgetown County incident also claims to have seen both of the accused leave the victim’s home.
The charges filed against both of these individuals are rather severe. The male has been charged with kidnapping, possession of a weapon, armed robbery, and assault and battery. The female is facing at least one count of armed robbery. At this time, it is unknown whether court dates have been scheduled in either of their cases.
In South Carolina, the consequences of a conviction on an armed robbery charge can be quite serious. Each of these individuals may face lengthy jail terms and hefty fines, if the prosecution succeeds in obtaining convictions in court. The accused, however, may have a number of legal options available to them. With the assistance of a criminal defense attorney, each of these individuals may find legal routes that will grant the best possible outcomes for their circumstances.
