A South Carolina woman recently lost her life in a tragic auto accident in the Anderson area. According to reports, the driver believed responsible crossed the center line and struck the victim’s vehicle head-on. A child was also injured in the wreck. Wrongful death and personal injury claims may be considered in this case, should the family members of the victims choose to seek damages for their losses.
This car accident is said to have occurred the morning of May 4. According to authorities, a 29-year-old male was driving a company car when he crossed into oncoming traffic. His vehicle struck the SUV driven by the 49-year-old woman head-on. Sadly, she was killed in the wreck. The woman’s 4-year-old grandson was with her in the vehicle, and he is said to have sustained non-life-threatening injures.
The driver deemed responsible for this incident was arrested. He is facing felony DUI charges for his role in the crash. At this time, it is unclear which substance authorities believe he had in his system at the time of the crash.
According to the state of South Carolina, the family members of the decedent and child may have legal recourse. Wrongful death actions and personal injury claims may be filed in efforts to seek compensation for the numerous losses experienced as a result of this wreck. These claims may be filed against the driver deemed responsible, as well as his employer — as the incident occurred in a company vehicle. Those claims that are litigated successfully in court may result in financial relief for all legally recoverable losses.
