Accident with injuries results in felony DUI charge

The driver believed responsible for an accident that injured two people in South Carolina has been arrested. He is now facing a felony DUI charge for the incident. Police have not indicated what substance the accused allegedly had in his system at the time of the crash.

According to reports, two vehicles collided in Lexington County when the driver of one of the cars allegedly ran a stop sign. The individual believed responsible — a 39-year-old male — was taken into custody shortly after the incident. He is charged with driving while impaired and causing great bodily injury. No further information about his case has been reported. 

The driver and passenger in the other car were both seriously hurt. It has been reported that the force of impact cut their vehicle in two. Both of these individuals were transported to the hospital for treatment, one via airlift and the other via ambulance. Their current conditions have not been released.
