A South Carolina woman has been arrested following a single-vehicle crash in Lake City. According to reports, this individual was allegedly driving while intoxicated, causing her to lose control of her vehicle. She is now facing drunk driving charges as a result.
This incident is said to have occurred the morning of Saturday, June 18, on Green Road. Police claim that the driver — a 23-year-old woman — lost control of her vehicle, ran off the road and rolled into a ditch. A passenger in the car — an 18-year-old male — was thrown from the automobile. Sadly, he died at the scene of the crash. Two other passengers were reportedly in the car, but they were uninjured.
The driver was arrested shortly after the incident and was transported to the Florence County Detention Center. She has since been charged with felony DUI. Court dates for her case have not been reported.
When it comes to drunk driving cases, they simply are not taken lightly in South Carolina — or anywhere else for that matter. If convicted on a felony DUI charge, this individual could face a number of severe consequences such as imprisonment and fines among various others. While this woman is facing a long and difficult legal battle, she is not alone in her cause. She has the right to retain legal counsel to assist her throughout her case.
