A South Carolina man was recently arrested for his alleged involvement in a crash that killed a pedestrian. This individual is facing numerous charges for the incident, including a felony DUI. With the severity of the charges in this case, the accused would likely benefit from the assistance of an experienced criminal defense attorney in his fight to achieve the best outcome possible.
It was recently reported that police in Conway arrested the individual they believe is responsible for a hit-and-run pedestrian accident. A 19-year-old male — a student a CCU — was crossing Highway 544 at approximately 12:40 p.m. when he was struck. The driver is said to have fled the scene, but he returned a short time later.
The accused — a 31-year-old male — was promptly arrested and booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center. It has not been reported whether bond has yet been set in his case. It is also unknown whether any court dates have been scheduled regarding this matter.
While police are still in the process of investigating this incident, the accused has been charged with both a felony DUI and for involvement in a hit-and-run accident. If convicted on these charges, this individual could face a number of serious consequences that could drastically alter the course of his life. While there is so much on the line, thankfully the accused does have the right to defend himself in a South Carolina criminal court with the assistance of legal counsel. By seeking professional legal help from the very beginning, steps can be taken to assist the accused in achieving the best possible outcome for the circumstances.
