Family of man killed in log truck accident may seek damages

A South Carolina man recently lost his life in a tragic accident with a log truck. This incident is said to have occurred in the Kingstree area the morning of Jan. 25. This individual’s surviving family members may, according to the state, be entitled to seek damages in civil court for their losses.

It was recently reported that a man who was driving his car southbound on Highway 52 collided with a log truck that was backing out of a private drive. Sadly, this individual died at the scene of the crash. Authorities have not yet released any personal information about the victim.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is still in the process of investigating this incident. As of the latest report, the driver of the logging truck has been charged with driving on a suspended license. It is believed that further charges may still be filed in this case.

There is nothing easy about losing a loved one. It is something that comes with both emotional and financial costs that can be devastating. According to the state of South Carolina, when a loved one is killed due to another’s negligence, surviving family members may have legal recourse.
