A man was killed and two others were injured in a single-vehicle crash that recently occurred in Florence. The South Carolina Highway Patrol are still in the process of investigating this incident. If driver negligence is suspected to have caused this crash, the victim’s surviving family members may file a wrongful death claim against this individual in an effort to seek compensation for their losses.
At approximately 1:15 a.m. on Feb. 7, a car left the roadway and overturned. This incident reportedly occurred on Douglas Street. Three people were in the vehicle, one of whom died at the scene. The driver and another passenger were injured and transported to an area hospital. The extent of their injuries is unknown.
Authorities still have not indicated what may have caused this wreck. According to police, none of the vehicle’s occupants had seat belts on at the time of the crash, which contributed to the severity of the outcome. At this time, it is unknown if any charges will be filed against the driver.
There is nothing easy about losing a loved one, no matter how it happens. It can result in significant emotional and financial losses of which many may never fully recover. When a life is lost due to negligent actions, according to the laws of South Carolina, the individual responsible may be held accountable.
