A South Carolina man has been charged following a single-vehicle crash that left him, his wife and his two children injured. Drunk driving is believed to have contributed to this incident. Due to the circumstances surrounding this crash, this individual has a lot to lose if he is convicted.

According to reports, on Wednesday, March 22, a 37-year-old male was driving his vehicle on New Holland Road in Aiken County when, for reasons unknown, his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. He, his wife and his two children were all unrestrained at the time of the crash. All four were transported to area hospital for treatment. Their current conditions are unknown.

The driver has been charged with numerous violations, including DUI and child endangerment. It is unknown if this individual is currently in police custody. It has also not been reported if any court dates have been scheduled in his case.

Drunk driving on its own is considered a serious offense in South Carolina. As children were involved and allegedly not properly restrained in the accused’s vehicle, the child endangerment charge elevates the seriousness of this situation to a whole other level. If convicted, this man stands to pay a heavy price, perhaps including limitations on his rights with regard to his children. With so much on the line, he deserves the best criminal defense available. An experienced attorney can help this individual take the steps necessary to fight the charges against him and minimize the impact this incident could have on him and his family.
