A South Carolina man was recently arrested for his alleged role in a domestic violence incident. The accusations against him are quite serious. As such, his approach to his criminal defense in going to make or break his case.
On Sunday, April 30, police in Horry County were alerted to an incident between a husband and wife. According to reports, the wife received a phone call from her husband at around 9:30 a.m. When she hung up due to him allegedly getting angry, he supposedly sent a text saying he was on his way to collect one of their children — a 2-year-old. The wife, the couple’s three children and another adult left the home before he arrived. He is accused of trashing the home and then pursuing the victims in his automobile.
According to reports, the accused allegedly rammed his vehicle into his wife’s. She eventually pulled off the road and into a gas station where she called for help. Police responded to the gas station, but the accused is said to have fled the scene. He was eventually located and arrested. He was been charged with domestic violence, second-degree assault and battery, driving on a suspended license and contempt of family court — among other accusations.
Due to the nature of the crimes alleged in this case, according to the laws of South Carolina, the accused — if convicted — could face imprisonment, fines and the loss of parental privileges — among other penalties.
